Eyepieces

A telescope without an eyepiece is like a car without tires. There are numerous type of eyepieces as well as eyepiece manufacturers. 'The biggest mistake people new to astronomy make is associating the magnification of an eyepiece as a measure of quality or ability. An eyepiece's magnification can be useful when trying to view planets such as Saturn but have no real impact when trying to view Deep Space Objects or DSOs.

Type of Eyepieces
There are a few different types of eyepieces:
- Erfle
- Huygens
- Kellner
- Nagler
- Orthoscopic
- Plössl
- Ramsden
- RKE
Each of these has a different design including different number of elements (lenses/glass).
