Dave Mitsky is a seasoned amateur astronomer and observer who is active, as both a participant and moderator, on a number of Internet astronomy fora. He's a member of the Astronomical Society of Harrisburg (where he's served as vice president and trustee among other positions), the Astronomy Enthusiasts of Lancaster County, and the Delaware Valley Amateur Astronomers and contributed a chapter to a book in Patrick Moore's Practical Astronomy Series entitled "Astronomy with Small Telescopes". Dave frequents star parties throughout the nation and is a regular attendee of the Stellafane Convention.
